Mercedes-Benz Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle Program

Not every pre-owned Mercedes-Benz earns the distinction of being Certified Pre-Owned. Only select vehicles that meet stringent eligibility standards are considered for the program. To qualify, a vehicle must:

Be no older than 6 model years
Have fewer than 75,000 miles on the odometer
Be maintained in accordance with the manufacturer’s service schedule
Include a verified CARFAX® Vehicle History Report

It Passes a 165+ Point Inspection

Before a vehicle is certified, it undergoes a detailed 165+ point inspection conducted by factory-trained technicians. Every exterior and interior component is evaluated, including paint condition, upholstery, seatbelts, and interior trim. Under the hood, the engine, brakes, transmission, and electrical systems are thoroughly assessed for performance and integrity.

It’s Road Tested

The certification process also includes a rigorous road test. Mercedes-Benz Authorized Technicians evaluate the vehicle’s steering, suspension, braking, acceleration, and overall driving dynamics to ensure it delivers the refined performance Mercedes-Benz is known for.

Coverage You Can Trust for Up to Five Years

Every Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) Mercedes-Benz comes with the remainder of the original 4-year/50,000-mile New Vehicle Limited Warranty. After this coverage ends, the Mercedes-Benz CPO Limited Warranty takes over, offering an extra 12 months of protection with no mileage limitations. For those seeking even longer peace of mind, a CPO Extended Limited Warranty is available for either one or two additional years, also with unlimited mileage, so you can enjoy every drive worry-free.

What Does the Mercedes-Benz CPO Limited Warranty Cover?

The CPO Limited Warranty covers necessary repairs or part replacements due to defects in materials or workmanship, performed by any authorized Mercedes-Benz dealership. Coverage spans a wide range of vehicle components, including:

Engine and Drivetrain

Coverage includes the engine, transmission, drive axles, fuel system, and cooling components. Vehicles equipped with 4MATIC® all-wheel drive, 4-wheel drive, or enhanced traction systems like ESP, ASR, ETS, or ASD are also covered under this warranty.

Convertible/Retractable Top Systems

Includes protection for motorized and mechanical systems that operate retractable or convertible tops, including roll bar mechanisms.

Central-Locking System

Covers actuators, linkages, switches, remote key fobs (excluding batteries), and receiver units used in the central locking system.

Steering/Suspension/Brakes

Covers the full power steering setup, suspension components, and advanced systems such as Active Body Control or the Adaptive Damping System, if equipped. Brake system components—including ABS—are covered, though wear items like brake pads and rotors are excluded.

Includes warranty protection for a variety of electrical systems, such as sensors, switches, motors, relays, gauges, connectors, and regulators.

This warranty includes factory- or dealer-installed audio and navigation equipment such as head units, speakers, amplifiers, satellite radio systems, navigation CD/DVD drives, and fiber-optic communication networks.

Protection applies to major components within both manual and automatic climate control systems, including heating and air-conditioning assemblies.

Other systems covered include seat belt assemblies, power seat drive cables, window regulators, sunroof cables, and front/rear wiper linkages. If your trip is disrupted by a mechanical issue more than 100 miles from home, Mercedes-Benz helps cover your expenses. You’ll be reimbursed for up to $300 per day for up to three days, helping you get back on the road without the extra stress.

For full details, including all limitations, ask Mercedes-Benz of Tysons Corner for a copy of the Mercedes-Benz Certified Pre-Owned Limited Warranty and optional warranty extensions. Coverage does not duplicate Mercedes-Benz New Vehicle Limited Warranty. If this vehicle is still covered by the New Vehicle Warranty at the time of MBCPO purchase, this coverage continues from the vehicle’s original in-service date and will apply until four years from the original New Vehicle Warranty start date or 50,000 total vehicle accumulated miles, whichever comes first. MBCPO Limited Warranty coverage will then apply for 12 additional months for unlimited miles. If the New Vehicle Warranty has expired prior to MBCPO purchase, MBCPO Limited Warranty coverage will apply for 12 months from MBCPO purchase.

Mercedes-Benz Guard Vehicles are ineligible for the Mercedes-Benz Certified Pre-Owned Program. See your dealer for a copy of the Extended Limited Warranty, which contains a full listing of covered systems and exclusions. Vehicle must be accessible from main roads. Roadside Assistance repairs may involve charges for service and parts. For model factory equipped with no spare tire, Roadside Assistance will attempt to re-inflate a flat tire after using the vehicle’s Tirefit puncture sealant. CPO Limited Warranty

With every Certified Pre-Owned Mercedes-Benz comes peace of mind, because every MBCPO vehicle is backed by one of the most comprehensive pre-owned vehicle limited warranties available — now with unlimited mileage for vehicles purchased on or after January 15th, 2014.

For starters, any remaining portion of the Mercedes-Benz four-year/50,000 mile* New Vehicle Limited Warranty applies to the vehicle. After that, MBCPO Limited Warranty provides comprehensive vehicle coverage for another 12 months, with unlimited mileage. For those MBCPO vehicles that are no longer covered by the New Vehicle Warranty, the MBCPO Limited Warranty takes effect at the time of delivery.

This coverage extends to the engine and powertrain, steering, suspension, brakes (excluding wear of discs and pads), electrical system, climate control system, and more.**

Every Mercedes-Benz Certified Pre-Owned (MBCPO) vehicle is covered by the standard MBCPO Limited Warranty — which now runs for 1 year with unlimited miles, starting when your vehicle’s original 4-year/50,000-mile* Mercedes-Benz New Vehicle Limited Warranty expires.

So that you can continue to enjoy unparalleled peace of mind when the CPO Limited Warranty ends, our Mercedes-Benz Certified Pre-Owned Extended Limited Warranty program offers additional coverage for either 1 or 2 years — now with unlimited miles.

Advanced Electronics
Coverage of most advanced electronic components including COMAND®, navigation system, SIRIUS Satellite Radio, Modular Control System (MCS), and CD player.Steering

Coverage applies to certain items of the vehicle’s Tempmatic or automatic climate control system, including the system’s air conditioning and heating assemblies.

Central Locking System
Covers various actuators, switches, and linkages, plus remote transmitters (excluding batteries) and receivers for the remote locking system.

Convertible/Retractable Top Systems
The top-actuation systems and roll bar mechanisms are fully covered.

Other Components
Additional covered components include front and rear windshield wiper linkages, power seat drive cables, seat belt assemblies, sunroof cables, window regulators and, if applicable, the pneumatic door and trunk closing assist systems. Towing and Trip Interruption Reimbursement
As with the standard MBCPO Limited Warranty provides free towing to the nearest Mercedes-Benz Dealership in the event of a covered breakdown, as well as MBUSA’s Trip Interruption reimbursement program.

Engine and Powertrain
Engine coverage includes most major engine components including control module, intake, and exhaust manifolds, turbocharger, supercharger, and all internally lubricated parts, seats, and gaskets. See the MBCPO Limited Warranty Booklet for complete listings.

Powertrain coverage includes transmission and rear axle. If your MBCPO vehicle is equipped with 4MATIC^® all-wheel drive or any other Mercedes-Benz traction and stability enhancements (ASD, ASR, 4-ETS, ESP), those systems are covered as well.

Transmission

Rear Axle

Stability Enhancement
Coverage includes hydraulic unit for ABS and 4-ETS systems, charging pump, pressure reservoir, control module, and vehicle speed sensors.

4MATIC^® All-Wheel Drive
