Which Cars Qualify for the Electric Car Tax Credit?

There are more electric options on the market than ever before, but not all of them qualify for the same incentives. Why? Your tax incentive depends on several factors. First, your EV has to meet the following criteria:

• Vehicle must be purchased new.
• Vehicle must create propulsion using a traction battery that has at least 5 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of capacity
• Vehicle must use an external source of energy to recharge.
• Vehicle must meet a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of up to 14,000 pounds
