Where Can I Charge My Electric Car?

Mercedes-Benz EV Charging

If you’ve just bought a new all-electric Mercedes-Benz in Vienna, you could be wondering where you can find electric car charging stations. While our service team always recommends installing a home electric car charger and using public electric car chargers as needed, it’s still good to know where you can charge your electric car.

Keep reading to learn more from the team at Mercedes-Benz of Tysons Corner. We’ll discuss what electric car charging station types are available in the Mclean and Chantilly areas, as well as provide insight on the cost of electric car charging.

Electric Car Charger Types

While you might be looking for things to do in the Mclean area, you might need to scope out the different electric car charger types available in the area. There are several electric car charging stations near Great Falls, but a home electric charger will be the most convenient for overnight charging. Here are the three different types of electric car chargers:

  1. Domestic Outlet Home Charging (Regular Outlet) (Level 1 Charging): This electric car charger will charge your Mercedes-Benz in 24 hours using a standard three-prong outlet. It’s the perfect charger for overnight charging. Still asking, “Where can I charge my electric car close by?” Start at home!
  2. Installed Brand-Approved Domestic Charging (Level 2 Charging): This electric car charger should be installed by a Mclean-area electrician. It can charge your battery in a few hours or, depending on the type of Level 2 charger, it can get your vehicle battery to 80% in 30 to 40 minutes.
  3. Public Charging/DC Fast Charging (Level 2 Charging): Public electric car charging stations are typically found in malls, hotels, parking garages, and gas stations. They are the fastest option, delivering an 80 percent charge in as few as 30 minutes.

Are Electric Car Charging Stations Free?

Now that you know the answer to, “Where can I charge my electric car around Vienna?”, it’s important to know the costs of public electric car charging stations. Some of them might be free while others can cost between $7 to $15 to charge your vehicle fully. Most charge by the kilowatt-hour.

The overall savings cost with electric vehicles is huge when compared to regular gas-powered vehicles. To learn more about additional electric car perks, check out our guide to the benefits of electric cars.
