How to Check Oil Level in a Mercedes-Benz

Check Oil Level
Mercedes-Benz Motor oil is an integral part of your Mercedes-Benz vehicle, and you should always make sure there’s plenty in your Mercedes-Benz engine to protect all of its internal moving parts. Whether you’re a commuter that ventures out onto the highways of Mclean and Chantilly often, or a local driver who stays closer to Vienna, making sure you check your oil level regularly is important. Read on to learn more about how to check car oil from the service team at Mercedes-Benz of Tysons Corner!

Here’s How to Check the Oil Level in Your Mercedes-Benz

Many Mercedes-Benz models have electronic oil monitors that don’t use traditional dipsticks. Accordingly, the first step to checking the oil level in your Mercedes-Benz is breaking out your owner’s manual. If you’re checking the oil manually in an older vehicle, just follow these steps:

  1. Park your vehicle on level ground and ensure the engine is turned off and cold.
  2. Open your car’s hood and locate the dipstick.
  3. Pull the dipstick out of the engine bay. Wipe all the oil off so it’s clean.
  4. Put the dipstick all the way back, as though you were going to leave it, then pull it out again and examine both sides to see what the oil level is.

Usually, dipsticks. have two marks to indicate oil level, or a cross-hatched area. If the oil level is between these marks, that indicates you have sufficient oil in your Mercedes-Benz engine. If it isn’t, you’ll need to contact our service center to add more engine oil or schedule Mercedes-Benz Synthetic Motor Oil Replacement service.
