What Is the Mercedes-Benz Service Schedule?

Silver Mercedes-Benz E-Class

In general, your car maintenance schedule will require you to schedule service once every 10,000 miles or so, or roughly once per year. For Mercedes-Benz vehicles made during or after 2009, the vast majority of the services you require will be grouped under Mercedes-Benz Service A* or Mercedes-Benz Service B*. In cases where additional services are required**, you may also see the letter C, D, E, or F.  Mercedes-Benz vehicles are high-precision machines, and you should be certain that your car maintenance schedule reflects that fact. Study your owner’s manual, learn about the ASSYST Plus tracking system, and explore the most important parts of the Mercedes-Benz service schedule below!

Mercedes-Benz Service A & Mercedes-Benz Service B

If you’ve just purchased a new Mercedes-Benz, your first Mercedes-Benz Service A* will arrive after you pass the 10,000-mile marker, or spend roughly one year on the roads near Mclean and Great Falls. This common appointment always includes:

  • Mercedes-Benz Synthetic Motor Oil Replacement
  • Oil Filter Replacement***
  • All fluid level checks and corrections, according to recommended service intervals for your vehicle’s make and model
  • Tire inflation check and correction
  • Brake component inspection
  • Reset maintenance counter

When you hit 20,000 miles or pass two years of ownership, you’ll schedule your first Mercedes-Benz Service B* appointment. It includes everything you’d expect from a Service A visit, along with several other important checks:

  • Mercedes-Benz Synthetic Motor Oil Replacement***
  • Oil Filter Replacement***
  • All fluid level checks and corrections, according to recommended service intervals for your vehicle’s make and model
  • Tire inflation check and correction
  • Brake component inspection
  • Cabin dust/combination filter replacement
  • Brake fluid exchange
  • Reset maintenance counter

What is your car maintenance schedule after 20,000 miles? In general, you can expect to alternate between Service A and Service B after each 10,000 mile interval. So, you’ll schedule Service A at 30,000 miles, Service B at 40,000 miles, and so on.

ASSYST PLUS Makes It Easy

The guidelines given above will get you through most of the trials and tribulations of ownership, but there’s one more essential feature of your Mercedes-Benz car maintenance schedule. Every new vehicle made during or after 2006 also includes the ASSYST PLUS service tracker, which automatically notifies you when it’s time to schedule service. So, all you need to do to master your car maintenance schedule is keep an eye on your controls! Although we recommend keeping a written record of your maintenance visits, you can trust ASSYST PLUS to let you know whenever additional checks and component replacements are required. If you see “Mercedes-Benz Service C,” or notice the letter D, E, or F, you can expect a standard visit with a few extra steps.

Remember, even if you’re following all of your vehicle’s recommendations, it’s still a good idea to learn how to check your coolant level and perform other simple tasks at home.
