• If your steering patterns begin to shift, ATTENTION ASSIST® kicks into gear while considering external factors like unusual road conditions and weather.
• When the system concludes that you’re experiencing driver fatigue, an alert will sound and ATTENTION ASSIST® “Take a Break” Mercedes-Benz technology will encourage you to rest.

The ATTENTION ASSIST® warning light is a small coffee cup, complete with a little rising steam. If this symbol appears, you’ll want to pull over into a rest area as soon as you’re able to do so.

How to Use Mercedes-Benz ATTENTION ASSIST®

Even where smart, next-generation features like Mercedes-Benz ATTENTION ASSIST® are concerned, it’s important to note that responsibility for safe driving remains with the driver. Here, we’ve highlighted a few things you’ll need to keep in mind in order to maximize this feature’s utility:

• ATTENTION ASSIST® only becomes active at or above speeds of 60 mph. This is where distracted driving becomes most dangerous.
• While the feature is active, the time since your last break will be displayed near your gauges. This makes it especially useful on road trips with more than one driver!
• Mercedes-Benz ATTENTION ASSIST® technology can only tell you when you’re getting tired or distracted; it’s up to you to take the necessary steps.

Don’t forget that coffee isn’t always a solution for distracted or tired driving, and that response times tend to worsen with a lack of sleep.
